In mommy's shoes..

My daughter is a typical girl--she loves shoes! She was so excited when I let her walk around the house with my shoes. Her face just lit up when I gave her the go ahead to put them on. I quickly grabbed the camera and took pictures!

LATELY...

I know what some of you are thinking, these are the same pictures I put up on FaceBook! Well..not EVERYONE has FaceBook. I was thinking of uploading more pictures since I really don't have much to blog about this time, but it takes forever for each picture to upload! I wonder if there's a better way or easier way I haven't figured out yet..?? Anybody know?

As for the pictures, I'm so proud to showcase John's photographic abilities. He has a passion for photography and since he's gotten his SLR, he hasn't stopped taking pictures of everything! Mostly he takes pictures of us. The kids enjoy it, most of the time, I think. He hasn't tweaked these yet, but you get a sneak preview here.

What's new... we bought a townhouse! Praise the Lord! We finally get to own a place and stop paying rent. We have been praying about buying a house but there were so many things to consider. And for those of you who are wondering, no, this does NOT mean we're staying in Ontario forever. For now, we believe this is where God wants us to be and we still believe that God wants to move back to Vancouver someday. But for the health needs of our Daniel, we asked the Lord to provide a house for us that is allergy free. The Lord certainly answered our prayers and more. Our townhouse is seven years old and has no carpets! It was actually even advertised as an "allergy-free" home.

The main floor has gorgeous dark hardwood floors, including the staircase. The bedrooms upstairs and the family room in the basement has beautiful laminate wood floors. We want to praise the Lord and give Him all the glory for allowing us to find a nice house and allowing us to buy. We can't wait to move in and see the change in Daniel's health!

LOTION CRAZY!

Sunday afternoon naps are a must in the Cruz household. However, when one of the kids wake up before they should, we end up not being able to take a nap at all. Daniel woke up first, and while we were playing with him, we heard a cry from upstairs. I sent John upstairs to check up on Mikayla. When he didn't hear anything upstairs, we thought it must have been the baby downstairs. A few minutes passed and we heard another cry and I thought for sure it must be Mikayla this time waking up from her nap. When John went upstairs to go and get her, he discovered that she did not sleep at all, but instead, she was busy getting into a big bottle of lotion! Often times she cries in the middle of the night wanting lotion on her because she's itchy. Well..this particular time, since the lotion was on her dresser, she took it upon herself to put it on all by herself. By the time John came, she had managed to drench her whole body -- including her clothes, parts of her hair, a few stuffed toys, and parts of her bed with lotion! She was so wet, John thought at first she wet herself in bed! Needless to say, her skin was smooth and very moisturized! OH...that things she gets into!!! Her bangs were covered in lotion; this is after I combed it out and after she got in trouble, hence the very sad face.

Another old one... Mikayla was only 16 months old when she became a big sister, just a baby herself really! She was so curious about baby Daniel and some how she knew he belonged to us. Daniel had no idea he was going to get beat up by his big sister that day! Poor Daniel... he he he....

BABY DANIEL'S FIRST HOUR OR TWO

I found this old video of Daniel and I couldn't resist the urge to share with everyone. He was only a few hours old and he was so alert! I've forgotten he was ever this small! Now he's 16 months old, walking, running, climbing and even talking a bit!

PHOTO SHOOT

Thanks to the snow storm (yet again..) , we remained indoors this weekend and decided to have a photo shoot. It was very hard to get the kids to cooperate so only a few pictures actually turned out . Daniel became easily bored and would not stay put. Mikayla was in another world she made up in her head. Taking pictures of kids definitely takes time and a lot of patience! So here are a few of the pictures that turned out. Enjoy!

Daniel's Talking!

Yep...Daniel is saying a few words now! Mostly he tries to mimic what we say. Mikayla sometimes will get him to say a few words and she finds it so funny when he actually says what she wants him to say!
The bear next to Daniel is almost always by his side when he is playing. He tries to carry it everywhere he goes and its as big as he is!

Just following Daniel around with my camera. It's so amusing watching him play because around other people he is super shy. He usually tries to hide his face when people say hi to him, but at home and in places where he is comfortable, he's so different!

SNOW IN MARCH...

Just as we experienced a little taste of spring a couple days ago, with temperatures like 12 degrees, who would have thought we would wake up to this today!

I never learn my lesson. Daniel was down for his nap and I got busy in front of the computer, I should have known when it suddenly became quiet, that Mikayla was up to something! After she has managed to put lipstick on her lips and all over her cheeks she came running into the kitchen to show me her wonderful work of art! So..instead of getting mad, I took pictures of her and put my purse away...
