INTRODUCTION...

Welcome to our family blog!!!

I started this blog because it was the best way to keep in touch with family and friends who live near and far. Now I keep the blog because it gives me a place to capture memories we make as a family. I have to say, however, that most of my postings are about the kids!

Mikayla Anne or Mia for short, is turning 4 this year and she is growing way too fast! She is our little princess and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She loves anything that is pink and purple. She is probably the girlest girl you'll ever meet!

Daniel John is 2 1/2 years old, but you'll never guess it because he is small and so very cute. He is our little sweetheart. Daniel is mischievous but really sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses to anyone who wants one! He will forever be our baby boy!

I hope you enjoy keeping in touch with us and watching the kids grow as much as I enjoy sharing our memories on the blog with you!

AND THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS...

27 more days before we go to Vancouver!!! Last time we were there was for Julius and Sally's wedding, Mikayla was only 10 months old! So Mikayla has been on a plane twice but this summer will be Daniel's first time.
For some family and friends, this will be the first time they'll meet little Daniel face to face, namely his Grandpa... I think when Daniel meets Grandpa they'll be best buds for sure!!!

My parents and John's Mom have only seen Daniel when he was just born. So I've been showing the kids pictures of their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins so their faces will look familiar... I hope it works!

While Mommy was away...

Last weekend, I went to a Ladies' Retreat @ Faithway and I was away from my kids for ONE whole night!!! Here's proof that they survived a night without Mommy. Daddy did a great job and even found their pajamas for the night! Although...Daddy did resort to McDonald's for dinner that night...

OUR "BIG" BABY GIRL

Since Mikayla is potty trained, she refuses to be referred to as our "baby" girl. She has now become a "big" girl but she will always be my baby girl forever...

In these pictures, she is wearing Auntie Manda's hat... she can be such a poser... sometimes...

VICTORIA DAY

On Victoria Day we went to the International Circus Festival at Harbourfront Centre in downtown Toronto. They had a lot of things going on at the same time and also had different workshops for kids to do. One tent had tubs of legos kids can play with

Heading home.... finally!

It was very breezy that day so John told Mikayla to put her hands in her pocket.

A WARNING..

Since we will be going to Vancouver to visit Grandparents... I wanted to post this picture to warn them that Daniel is not as perfect as he makes himself out to be! But we know they'll love him anyway... Ha ha ha!

JUST MOMMY AND MIA...

I LOVE HER...(even though she drives me crazy!!!)

Our little discovery..

We discovered a park right next to our new house! What a blessing it will be to be able to take the kids there during the summer. It has a small playground, 2 baseball fields, a bike trail and it connects to another bigger park. Daniel ran around the big open field while Mikayla was more interested in picking dandelions.

MORE PHOTOS...(just for the grandparents)

MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND...

On Saturday, we drove to the next town over called Georgetown and found a park and, of course, John whipped out his beloved camera and took, yes, more pictures of us! Some might wonder if my children actually have a father because John is rarely in any of the pictures. Well, they do, he does exist! He just happens to be the official photographer in the family.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I want to wish all the moms that read our blog a very happy mother's day, especially the two most important moms in my life: my Mama and my Mom-in-law!

UPDATE

Just an update on what's been going on in our lives...

I started potty training Mikayla and it's going really well. Some days she still has accidents, which is expected, of course. Overall, however, I think she has learned it pretty quickly and enjoys not having have to wear diapers anymore. A few days into potty training, while she was sitting on the potty, she proudly announced, "Mommy, there's apple juice in my potty!" I thought that was funny! One day, when she's older, I can use that phrase to embarrass her! Ha ha ha! Meanwhile, I don't think I can look at apple juice the same way again! LOL.

Daniel will be 18 months this month. He has changed quite a bit. He's starting to smile and wave at people now as long Mommy and Daddy are around. I don't remember Mikayla ever being as shy as Daniel is. He is starting to talk more, trying to catch up to his big sister, although everything he can say rhymes with "juice," like: shoes, goose, cheerios (more like chee-ius).

We're still trying to figure out some of the words he says. Some words he says are really clear like, Daddy, Mamma, Ate (means big sister), ball and bus. Oh... and he can do an awesome dinosaur sound! That's why we've named him Danielsaur...

This summer will certainly be busy for us. In a month or so we'll be moving into our new townhouse. There will be lots of packing, painting, organizing and unpacking, etc... We're also looking forward to spending some time with our families and friends in BC this summer. I'm excited for the kids to get to know their grandparents, aunts, uncles and even cousins!

SOME OLD PICS AND ONE NEW SCANNER..

Recently, John ordered a HP printer/scanner/copier on the net for $20.00, what a deal huh? He always seem to find great deals. I'm convinced he spends most of internet surfing time looking for bargains. Anyway, I thought I'd play around with the scanner today and I found some old pictures of the kids taken @ walmart. I think this was taken sometime around spring last year so Daniel must have been only around 6 months old here. It's always fun for me to see how much the kids have grown since last year.
