INTRODUCTION...

Welcome to our family blog!!!

I started this blog because it was the best way to keep in touch with family and friends who live near and far. Now I keep the blog because it gives me a place to capture memories we make as a family. I have to say, however, that most of my postings are about the kids!

Mikayla Anne or Mia for short, is turning 4 this year and she is growing way too fast! She is our little princess and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She loves anything that is pink and purple. She is probably the girlest girl you'll ever meet!

Daniel John is 2 1/2 years old, but you'll never guess it because he is small and so very cute. He is our little sweetheart. Daniel is mischievous but really sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses to anyone who wants one! He will forever be our baby boy!

I hope you enjoy keeping in touch with us and watching the kids grow as much as I enjoy sharing our memories on the blog with you!

MORE PICS from THE YARD SALE...

During the Yard Sale, the kids did really well at keeping themselves occupied. Mrs. Farquhar gave them a box of 200 stickers each and that kept them pretty busy. When they got bored of that, Mia found two small baskets that Mrs. Cook was selling and she wanted to pretend that she was going to pick berries with them. Daniel, on the other hand, took it literally and picked "berries"(flowers) from Mrs. Cook's flower box. (It's ok, Mrs. Cook forgave him)

7 MORE DAYS LEFT...

Mikayla is constantly telling people, "We're going on a big airplane today!" We have to remind her that its not "today" but "soon!" AHHHHHHHHHHH! So excited! Seven more days!!!

FOOTBALL!!!

Ok... so I don't have a single clue on how to play football, but it was nice to pretend! Last Saturday, we had a yard sale at the Cooks' house. Even though it started to rain in the morning, it didn't rain the whole time during the yard sale; we got rid of a lot of junk and made around $75! God is so good!

We're really excited to put that money towards getting the kids a sandbox for our backyard this summer! Mikayla is already constantly talking about it because Mommy is very opposed to them playing with the sand at playground.

Daddy is at it again...

Going to the park ALWAYS means Daddy gets to take pictures! The kids are so used to getting their picture taken, that as soon as they see a camera they say "cheese!" However, Daniel rarely sits still for the picture and Mikayla just runs away! Nevertheless, some pictures do turn out and here are some of them!

MMM...ICE CREAM!!!

Mikayla loves ice cream!!! We don't have ice cream very often because Daniel is allergic to milk.

14 more days to go!!!

We're all getting pretty excited, 14 more days to go before we go on our trip to Vancouver! I just hope it gets warmer in Vancouver in next couple of weeks. We already promised to take Mikayla to Cultus Lake Water Park, one thing other than sand that she loves is water!!! When I showed her the website for the water park she wanted to go right then and there. If only we could just jump into the computer screen! With the weather we're having lately, I really wouldn't mind doing just that!

It seems like we've waited so long for summer to arrive and now that it's finally here, it feels like its going super fast! The kids are getting so big and right before my eyes too! Even with being with them all day, every day I still notice how big they're getting! Daniel has an ever curious little mind. He's favorite phrase and usually the first thing he says when he wakes up is, "what's that?" And whatever answer we give him, he will repeat it! He talks so much now and most of time we can understand what he says. However, nobody can out talk our little Mikayla, she doesn't stop talking from the time she wakes up to the time she goes to bed. Sometimes even after we've tucked her in, we can still hear her talking to herself!

CUTIE!

Can you believe that these pictures were taken right before the big thunderstorm on Sunday? It was hot and sunny when we left our house for the park. When we got to the park, a dark storm cloud appeared and the weather quickly changed from sunny, hot and humid to stormy, wet and cool! Needless to say, we ran to our van before getting completely soaked!!!

At the park with Daddy!

Mommy played "photographer" while Daddy played with Mikayla and Daniel. The kids had so much fun at the park. Mikayla can't stop talking about going on the swing and the slides but most of all, she loves to play with the sand! Daniel on the other hand, gravitates towards the biggest slide in the playground. He doesn't care how high it is, he will find a way to get up to it and even if he goes down the slide head down first, he will go down again and again! We have realized that Daniel has no fear whatsoever! Although we really should have known that since he started climbing on furniture before he even started crawling! He gave me a couple of heart attacks as I watched him go down the big slide... boys will be boys I guess...

Lesson Learned

Two weeks ago Daniel got a bad cold and as always it always turns into asthma. He has a nebulizer that we put him on as soon as he starts wheezing and usually the wheezing stops after just a few minutes. But this time, nothing seemed to help him stop wheezing. John and I got pretty worried about our little guy so we decided to take him to the hospital. Under normal circumstances, we would never ever even consider going to the hospital but all the walk-in clinics were closed. All we wanted was relief for Daniel. To make a long story short, after waiting for 6 hours, at 1:30 AM and not seeing a doctor we decided to go home. It was really frustrating to wait but Daniel did start to feel better. Well...we have definitely learned our lesson, we are NEVER going to take our kids to the hospital!!!

Here's Daniel on his nebulizer saying "cheese" as Mommy takes his picture.
