We're excited to have Daniel's birthday in BC this year with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins! And most especially because Daniel and Micah get to celebrate their birthdays together! But before we leave Ontario for a long time, we wanted to have a birthday party with the Lindemans so the kids can say good-bye to Nanny and Poppy.

DANIEL'S FIRST REAL CAKE...

Daniel is allergic to milk, as most of you know, so he has never had a real cake before. This year, we ordered him a cake from a bakery that specializes in dairy free baked goods. Although, he was more excited about blowing his candles than having a real cake!

Daniel LOVES Thomas Tank Engine!!! We are not finished with his room yet, but slowly working on it. This is a sneak peak for the grandparents!

THANKSGIVING

I always look forward to Thanksgiving, I love everything about it! This year is extra special for us because we hosted Thanksgiving at our home for the very first time! We are certainly thankful to the Lord for allowing us to invite friends to celebrate Thanksgiving in the home He has given us. It was overall a successful first for us and we look forward to many more gatherings at our home.

The food was excellent; although, I have to admit I got a break this year and all I had to prepare was the turkey and side dishes. The Cooks brought pies and bean casserole and the Lindemans brought ham. Also, we started a new Cruz family tradition -- in addition to pies for dessert, John made homemade crepes! (One that is milk-free, for Daniel!) I look forward to having crepes every year for Thanksgiving and maybe even on a regular basis!!! (??)

We also enjoyed a very slow game of Phase 10 (ha ha!) and laughed at each other playing the Wii!!!

We are always more homesick for our family during holidays such as Thanksgiving, but we are very thankful for friends who have become like family to us here in Ontario.
