INTRODUCTION...

Welcome to our family blog!!!

I started this blog because it was the best way to keep in touch with family and friends who live near and far. Now I keep the blog because it gives me a place to capture memories we make as a family. I have to say, however, that most of my postings are about the kids!

Mikayla Anne or Mia for short, is turning 4 this year and she is growing way too fast! She is our little princess and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She loves anything that is pink and purple. She is probably the girlest girl you'll ever meet!

Daniel John is 2 1/2 years old, but you'll never guess it because he is small and so very cute. He is our little sweetheart. Daniel is mischievous but really sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses to anyone who wants one! He will forever be our baby boy!

I hope you enjoy keeping in touch with us and watching the kids grow as much as I enjoy sharing our memories on the blog with you!

At the Lieutenant Governor's House..

We are very fortunate to be living close to almost everything here in Victoria! In fact, across the street from us is the Lt. Governor's house. Because it is a government house, it's open to the public and on Sunday we took advantage of the cool sunny weather and took a walk around the Garden. It was huge and probably really beautiful when all the flowers are in bloom.

STARBUCKS!!!

The day after we arrived in BC, our body clocks were still running on Ontario time, which is 3 hours ahead of BC. Needless to say, we all woke up very early that morning, so we decided to watch the sunrise at Burnaby Mountain. After our early morning excursion, we stopped at Starbucks and treated ourselves to very expensive coffee. John decided to get Mia a kid's cocoa as well and since Daniel ALWAYS wants what his big sister is having, we asked for an extra cup and put mango juice in it! Since then, our taste buds have been spoiled and have had our share of Starbucks coffee! But I plan on limiting myself to one a week and so far it's been working out. Until of course, I get back to Vancouver and my brother-in-law (who works @ Starbucks) can get me a discount!

MICAH AND DANIEL'S BIRTHDAY!

As I mentioned before Micah (my nephew) and Daniel share the same birthday. Since we were going to be in BC for their birthdays, we quickly planned to have a double celebration! Sandra (my sister-in-law) thought it would be great to take the kids to Science World and then head over to McDonalds after. Everyone had a blast but the celebrating (for us anyway) continued till dinner at Gramma's house where she cooked a lot of food and invited some friends! Here are some of the pictures --- Enjoy!!

T-SHIRTS FROM GRAMMA...

The shirt says, "Someone who loves me very much went to Alaska and got me this shirt." Gramma was thinking of Mia and Daniel when she went on a cruise to Alaska a few months ago. Thanks Gramma, we love our new t-shirts!!!

ONE BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY IN VICTORIA

I read somewhere that Victoria has the mildest weather in all BC and I can't help but say it's true! We have had beautiful weather so far and even though we we're all sick, we couldn't help but go out on Saturday and enjoy the sunshine! We walked up and down Government St ( a very touristy area) and passed by the BC Parliament. After, we found a park and the kids we're excited to see a playground. On the way home, we drove by the ocean!

LATELY...

Future Photographers in the family :)

Grandpa trying to keep Daniel from scratching himself

At YVR...waiting forever for our suitcases, come to find out one didn't make it to Vancouver!

VICTORIA...HERE WE COME...
John's job brought us to Victoria, BC for a few months and a lot has happened since we left two weeks ago. His company has arranged for us to stay in a fully furnished apartment while we are here. We're very close to Downtown Victoria and we can't wait to go and explore the city and its surrounding areas!

DANIEL TURNS 2...
We have had a chance to visit with family in Vancouver and even celebrated Daniel's 2nd birthday. Of course, it was extra special because Micah (whom by the way, turned 6!) and Daniel share the same birthday. The kids went to Science World (now called TelusSphere :P) in the morning and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mikayla couldn't decide what she wanted to do and see first. It was funny watching her freeze in the middle of the room and not know where to go. Daniel on the other hand, was a bit under the weather, so Mommy and Daddy took turns holding him (even Uncle Jun had a turn!). After, we went to McDonalds and got Happy Meals for the kids. Sandra even baked a special cake for Daniel and chocolate cupcakes for Micah. Later that evening, Grandma cooked up a storm for a another party for Daniel. I think even as tired Daniel was that night, he knew that he was very spoiled indeed. He unwrapped plenty of presents that night! Unfortunately, the pictures taken are still sitting in John's camera. As soon as he uploads them, I will be sure to put them up!

ONE NASTY VIRUS...
Daniel was sick all last week and, on Monday, we decided to take him to the hospital since his fever kept coming back. The ER Doctor gave him some antibiotics and he is back to his old mischievous self! Unfortunately, Mikayla contacted the same nasty bug and is now just starting to feel better. John and I both have been feeling sick as well. Hopefully, we will all be healthy soon!

We're still unsure when we will be back in Ontario. John and I have both decided that we feel lonelier in Victoria than we ever were in Brampton -- we are so close, yet so far to Vancouver. Also, it's hard not knowing how long we will be here but we are trusting in the Lord for everything. We know that God will take care of us where ever we are!
