INTRODUCTION...

Welcome to our family blog!!!

I started this blog because it was the best way to keep in touch with family and friends who live near and far. Now I keep the blog because it gives me a place to capture memories we make as a family. I have to say, however, that most of my postings are about the kids!

Mikayla Anne or Mia for short, is turning 4 this year and she is growing way too fast! She is our little princess and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She loves anything that is pink and purple. She is probably the girlest girl you'll ever meet!

Daniel John is 2 1/2 years old, but you'll never guess it because he is small and so very cute. He is our little sweetheart. Daniel is mischievous but really sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses to anyone who wants one! He will forever be our baby boy!

I hope you enjoy keeping in touch with us and watching the kids grow as much as I enjoy sharing our memories on the blog with you!

our journey home..

We had a great time driving across the country! We were worried about how the kids would travel but they did really well. We left Brampton on Friday morning and arrived in Marathon at around 11pm, where we found a Travelodge to spend the night at.

The next morning, we drove through Northern Ontario and, I have to say, it was my favorite part of the trip. The drive was so relaxing because the scenery was so beautiful and besides that we were the only car on the road most of the time! To save a bit of money, we decided to stop at rest stop and rest a few hours instead of spending the night at a hotel on Saturday night. Unfortunately, that plan didn't go over that well with the kids. So we stopped for an hour and John drove through the night while the kids and I slept.

By the time we woke up we were in Saskatoon! We stopped to have breakfast at McDonalds and I drove through Manitoba while John slept. By Sunday afternoon we arrived in Edmonton where we planned on taking a whole day off from driving and, instead, we took the kids to West Edmonton Mall. We checked into a Holiday Inn and spent the rest of the day resting. We went to the mall on Monday and we were in there from the time it opened to the time it closed (it even closed early coz it was a holiday). We all had a blast and were so glad we got to stop there.

We then drove to Calgary and found a neat hotel that just opened recently so we got a really good deal for a four star type of hotel. Tuesday morning we drove to Banff and Lake Louise, but it was still too cold to really enjoy it. We finally arrived at our final destination at 11pm that same night and we were exhausted! Overall, it was an awesome trip and I think everyone should drive across the country at least once in their life!

Unfortunately, we realized that we didn't take very many pictures during our road trip since we were too busy driving too fast! Ha ha!
