INTRODUCTION...

Welcome to our family blog!!!

I started this blog because it was the best way to keep in touch with family and friends who live near and far. Now I keep the blog because it gives me a place to capture memories we make as a family. I have to say, however, that most of my postings are about the kids!

Mikayla Anne or Mia for short, is turning 4 this year and she is growing way too fast! She is our little princess and has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She loves anything that is pink and purple. She is probably the girlest girl you'll ever meet!

Daniel John is 2 1/2 years old, but you'll never guess it because he is small and so very cute. He is our little sweetheart. Daniel is mischievous but really sweet. He loves to give hugs and kisses to anyone who wants one! He will forever be our baby boy!

I hope you enjoy keeping in touch with us and watching the kids grow as much as I enjoy sharing our memories on the blog with you!

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO KUYA

It's hard to believe that my Kuya (big brother) is 30 years old today! I remember my Dad telling us that when Kuya turned 2 years old, they bought him his first bicycle and he learned to ride it right away! He probably taught Julius and I how to ride as well. It seems like it was just yesterday that we used to ride our bikes together under the hot sun in Jeddah! I even remember when the three of us figured out a way we could get one bike all at the same time: Kuya pedalled while Julius rode on the bar at the front and I rode on the back. Ha ha. We were a lot smaller then! ;)

Saying our goodbyes in Victoria..

While we were in Victoria, we were able to find a great church to be a part of during our stay. Everyone was so sweet and friendly and pretty soon we knew we made life long friends. The kids really enjoyed going to Capital City Baptist Church and they still talk about wanting to go back there. Saying goodbye was certainly bittersweet for us!!!

We are back!

We are back in Brampton after 5 months in Victoria, BC. We were anxious to get back to our house and our life in Brampton. It was sad to say goodbye to family, friends and of course the mountains and ocean! We felt like 5 months went fast and slow at the same time!

The kids are almost back to their normal regular schedule, which is great. I'm glad it doesn't take them long to adjust at all! John and I still feel a little jet lagged, at least meal times and bed times are back to normal now. I didn't realize that 5 months is a long time to be gone from the house because I didn't know where anything was in the house! (Unless someone moved it all round while we were gone, which is highly unlikely.)

MIA GOT HER EARS PIERCED!

Traditionally Filipino girls get their ears pierced when they're just babies. We just never got around to doing it when Mia was a baby. One day she noticed Mommy's earrings and ever since then she's been asking to get her ears pierced. We finally let her while my mom came to visit us in Victoria and offered to pay for it, Mikayla was so excited! I warned her that it would hurt a little but she still wanted to get it done, she was so brave! Not a single tear was shed... she must have wanted it really bad!

Here's Mia picking out her earrings...

Waiting patiently...

Having second thoughts???

First ear....

Second ear, after the first one she knew
what to expect!

All done!
In pain... but she was happy!

And she picked a pink flower... surprise!
